Let's Sparkle

Happy November! It seems as though October flew by in a frenzy of Pumpkin Spice and Halloween costumes but I am not complaining. I am one of those crazy people who start playing Christmas music on November 1st and I am not afraid to admit it. In a day or two, a Christmas Countdown app will be downloaded on my phone and I will begin my marathon of corny Hallmark Christmas movies. I firmly believe that it is never too early to get into the holiday spirit, especially when it comes to your winter wardrobe :)

This year, I got a head start on festive fashion by wearing a seriously sparkly ensemble to my school's homecoming dance. I threw away the idea of a short black dress and opted for something completely unexpected: a fabulous pair of glittery jeans by Joe's.

I picked up these amazing pants while visiting Pittsburgh a couple months back. While walking on Walnut Street, my mom and I popped into a store called Issue. Their selection of luxury jeans was to die for; I'm surprised that I managed to get away with only one pair! Definitely check out the store if you are in the area, you will not be disappointed! You can also head over to their website here.

I paired the jeans with a ruffly, strapless top that is actually (believe it or not) a dress! I wore the BCBG Max Azria dress it to a winter dance freshman year and decided to repurpose it by folding it under and creating an adorable tube top. Pretty genius, amirite? :) I finished the look with a small pendant necklace and black, strappy sandals from Forever 21.

This look is definitely going in my outfit archive as one of my favorites. I hope that I have inspired you to add some sparkle to your holiday party outfits this season. Parties are the perfect opportunity to experiment with new trends, so don't be afraid to go a little crazy! I hope you enjoyed this post and stayed tuned for another post coming tomorrow! Thanks for reading and sharing! Xoxo- Pointe Shoes and Prada

P.S. Special thanks to the ladies at Issue on Walnut Street in Pittsburgh for helping me find the awesome pants!
