Summer Essentials: The Party Dress

When I'm going to a fancy party in the summer, the last thing I want to do is sweat it out in a dark dress and hastily blot my underarms with cocktail napkins. 1: that's kind if gross and 2: its totally unnecessary. When the temperatures are high and the standards for dress are even higher, an elegant sundress is your best bet.

I picked this dress up at Anthropolgie a few years back and haven't worn it out once! When an opportunity to wear it finally presented itself, I pulled it out, dusted it off and slipped it on. Yeah, it was that easy. It's made by a brand called Girl From Savoy, and I found out that I have a few more dresses from them in my wardrobe. Lucky me, right?!

After a quick google search, I found that the brand is based out of Brooklyn and (sadly) does not have a website of their own. They do however, have a Facebook page if you want to check them out. I think I'll stop by their store in Brooklyn when I move to the city. Oh, wait! I never told you guys that I'm moving to NYC! An update post is coming soon :)

For this look, I paired the dress with some strappy, black leather sandals and a simple gold chain necklace with a circle pendant. Both accessories are from forever 21, making them super affordable. This look is a little more ladylike and girly than I'm used to but I really enjoy switching my style up and playing with beautiful pieces such as this dress. Fashion is supposed to be fun, remember!
