Getaway: My Week in Hilton Head, SC
Summer is in full swing and I couldn't be happier. I returned home to Buffalo from school a little over 3 weeks ago and spent the week of May 20th in Hilton Head, South Carolina on a family vacation. For 5 days, I slept, read, ate and listened to podcasts on the beach. It was a beautiful, much needed week of pure and uninterrupted relaxation. Here are some highlights from the trip:

The cuisine in Hilton Head is a mix of Southern comfort food and fresh seafood from the ocean and the bay. If you ever visit, make sure to stop by Hudson's Seafood House on the Docks for delicious hushpuppies and arguably the best crab legs on the island. Some other favorites of mine are The Crazy Crab, Marley's and Skull Creek Boathouse.

While the beach is the main attraction on Hilton Head, there is a lot to explore around the island. Biking on the designated bike paths is a great way to see the island and enjoy the scenery.Hilton Head has been my favorite summer vacation destination since I was little and after this trip, that still holds true. This visit reminded me of how beautiful the island is, how much I love the beach and how important it is to take time out of your schedule, no matter how busy you are, to spend quality time with family
