The Weekend Run-Down: December 25th-December 27th

The holi-daze is just starting to wear off as we come out of this Christmas weekend and I am not happy about it. I love this time of year and will prolong the festivities for days to come. As far as I'm concerned, Christmas ain't over until all the leftovers have been eaten and at my house, we have a ways to go. The amount of food in our fridge will definitely last us through the new year. So since Christmas isn't going anywhere just yet, let us reminisce the Christmas holiday with a weekend rundown to prolong the spirit of the season. Hey, it is the most wonderful time of the year.

December 25th

My family gets an early start on Christmas day as we host dinner and have quite a bit of cooking to do for the occasion. After we opened presents, we all headed right to the kitchen to prepare a four course meal. My sister, nana and I set the table in our newly renovated dining room and went for a chic, silvery theme. It came out real nice :)

When it came to getting dressed, I decided to do something really fun rather than formal. I borrowed my mom's polka dot sequins top from J. Crew and paired it with some fuchsia skinnies from the Gap. To tie the look together, I laced up my uber comfortable Cole Haan oxfords.

Family came over at 4 and thus began the feasting. I think I may have eaten for like 3 hours straight...oops #sorrynotsorry
I made the most amazing salted caramel chocolate tart from a pinterest recipe that everyone loved. It was so decadent and rich, just the image of it in my head makes my mouth water. I was so proud of it that I gave it its own little photo shoot. Ain't it cute doe?!

The day after Christmas was spent at the mall making exchanges and picking up some coveted items with the gift cards I scored. Shout-out to all you lovely people who fed my shopping addiction this Christmas; you are very appreciated! For this mall trip, I put on the sweater I featured in my Christmas dinner lookbook and paired it with some seriously distressed skinnies. I opted for my Adidas Original Superstars for footwear and kept jewelry simple with my Fossil watch and Alex and Ani bracelets.

The faux fur vest was one of my purchases from boxing day. It is from Design Lab and I picked it up from Lord and Taylor for $50! It was original $108 so it was quite a steal. I love the frosty lavender and powder blue color palette of the fur. I can (and will) wear it right through spring.

Weekend Favorites

1. Ariana Grande's Christmas and Chill had me hooked this weekend! With its smooth, slow jams and flirty lyrics, this ain't your mama's Christmas album (watch the Kingsley vid on youtube mentioning it, it's hilarious!) My favorite song from the album is Winter Things.

2. My wonderful mommy got me the Chocolate Bar palette from Too Faced Cosmetics for Christmas and I am obsessed. The eye shadow colors are so beautiful and they're made with cocoa powder so they smell like chocolate! I honestly don't know what could be better.
3. Okay, time for a cheesy one: one of my favorites was spending time with the fam. We always have such a great time and laugh nonstop. I am truly blessed to have such a loving and supportive family. Okay, sappiness done.
4. I am giving some more love to my salted caramel tart. It was seriously the best thing I've ever baked. Everything was from scratch: crust, caramel and filling. I kind of rock :)
That is it for this post! I hope you all had a great holiday weekend and got to spend time with family and friends. Stayed tuned for some NYE looks coming very soon. As always, keep reading and checking back for more! Xoxo- Pointe Shoes and Prada
