The Weekend Run-Down: January 1st- January 3rd

HAPPY 2016! Hope everyone is stoked for what the new year has to come. I have a ton of great content planned for ya'll and will be posting wayyyyy more consistently as I grow and expand this blog. I'm real excited guys; big things are on the horizon :)

By now I'm sure you guys know the drill so let's just get into it.

Friday, January 1st

Friday morning was spent chilling at home until my mom, sis and I headed to the mall to hit up the last of the holiday sales. I did not purchase any clothing items but I did pick up the Anastasia Beverly Hills clear brow gel. (I know its 2016, but I have to say on fleek. Sorry in advance.) My brows look absolutely #ONFLEEK when I use this product. (okay never again, I promise.)
My mall outfit was a simple and comfortable one. I wore overalls with a black turtle-neck and my Doc Martens chelsea boots.

On Friday evening, the fam went over to a friend's house for a delicious dinner. It was a casual gathering so I wore jeans and a sweater, but not just any jeans and a sweater. I sported my jeans with a shiny, snake-skin patterned coating and baby blue, cashmere sweater.

I did absolutely nothing yesterday morning but I did go on a Target run with sissy at like 4. Seriously, if I don't have to leave my bed on weekends, I do not. When it came time to throw someone on to go to Target, I opted for my overalls again because they were conveniently laying on my floor. The pink Jack Wills jumper and white Docs were inspired by street-style maven and Wonderland magazine editor Julia Sarr Jamois. She is known for mixing bright colors and denim elements. I've been pinning her like crazy on pinterest. (Shameless self promo...go!) Follow me on there if you aren't already!!

Saturday night was #famdinna at one of our favorite local restaurants, Shango. I went for a trendy and sophisticated look with leather jeans, a 3/4 sleeve turtleneck and a faux fur vest. I completed the outfit with a long silver necklace.

Sunday, January 3rd

I literally didn't get dressed today and did homework all day so let's just do some favorites shall we?

Weekend Favorites

1. I love sharing music faves with you guys and this week I've got a good one! If you have Spotify, check out the Urban Coffeehouse playlist. Its so chill and perfect for lounging by the fire.
2. My new fave foundation is the Maybelline Matte and Poreless. Its sooooooo good and you don't even need a powder to set it since its matte. One of the best drugstore foundations out there in my opinion.
3. Gotta show some love to my Forever 21 overalls. They're comfortable and functional: what more could you want?
4. Over this winter break I watched the Netflix original series Master of None starring Aziz Ansari and loved it. It was witty and hilarious; definitely give it a try.
5. My dinner Sat. night at Shango was #bomb. I had the black pepper linguine for dinner and pumpkin bread pudding for dessert with (get this) maple bacon ice cream on the side. Heaven.
6. This weekend I wrote a piece about the superficiality of fashion that I will be posting this week. I really enjoyed sharing my thoughts on the topic. Make sure you stay tuned for that, I think you'll enjoy it.
Okay, well that's all for me today. Hope you enjoyed this post! Xoxo- Pointe Shoes and Prada
