Summer Denim Series: The Denim Skirt
The Denim Skirt
Today I am back with part 2 of my summer denim series with one of my new favorite items in my closet: my denim skirt. That's right, denim skirts are back and better than ever, and I couldn't be more pleased. There's something so good about a denim skirt, especially one that fits as well as this.I picked up this Buffalo by David Bitton skirt at Lord and Taylor on-sale for $30.
Unlike many denim skirts, this one has a really nice stretch and my legs don't feel constricted while walking around. The skirt is also long enough for my lanky legs; a quality that is very hard to find in most mini skirts. I mean I get that they're called a "mini skirts" for a reason, but they aren't called "let your butt is hang out skirts"either so there's got to be a happy medium. This skirt is just that.
I wanted to make this a sporty look which I achieved through the accessories. I laced up a pair of my favorite sneakers, threw on a baseball cap and even added a backpack to give the look even more of an athleisure vibe. Side note: The word "athleisure" has been added to the dictionary. How wild is that? Fashion poeple are more powerful than we think. Or the dictionary people just really want some new words. I mean they did induct "selfie" as an actual word in the english language; a very questionable decision.
This look would be perfect for a day trip, a picnic or a sporting event. It's comfortable, easy and just stylish enough to get you to turn some heads. We like some head turning every once in a while, don't we?I hope you guys enjoyed this one and are maybe inspired to go out and get a denim skirt of your own. It's a great alternative to denim shorts or even jeans and if you're a blue jean fanatic like me, it's always fun to adopt new ways to get your denim fix in every outfit.Stay tuned for the final installment of my summer denim series tomorrow. Thanks for reading :)
