A few weekends ago, I spent my Sunday playing dress up at an incredible vintage store called Installation Brooklyn. My friend Nina Avroneva, a dope fashion blogger and stylist, pulled items from the store and styled 4 looks for me to wear for a photoshoot with Bared Magazine. Founded by Fordham University LC juniors Emalyn Smith and Maura Carney, Bared Magazine is a platform that seeks to make fashion more conscious and inclusive. I was so excited when they asked me to model for them and to be a part of their movement.Installation Brooklyn is a vintage and consignment clothing store located in Bed-Stuy, a neighborhood full of diverse people, vibrant colors and ethnic cuisine. We chose the perfect fall day to make the trek to Brooklyn; the leaves had just changed and the sun was out in full force. I definitely found my light :)The store is comprised of a curated collection of unique vintage pieces that include gender-neutral, size-inclusive and sustainable clothing items. Their tag-line is "real people, real clothes" which totally captures the raw and laid-back essence of the store. Size and gender inclusivity isn't always a priority for second-hand clothing vendors so it was awesome to be in an environment that welcomed a wide range of body types. This leather trouser and striped sweater combo was hands-down my favorite look that Nina styled. The simple color palette made for an elevated look with a downtown-chic vibe. All of these beautiful items can be found right at Installation BK.I've linked everyone who was involved with the photoshoot down below. Stay tuned to see more of the looks!
