Over the past few years, I've found that it is so important to take time to connect with your friends and check up on them regularly. While you meet so many different people in college, it can sometimes be an isolating experience. You're growing up and laying the foundation for the life that you're going to build as an adult. It's a scary time and can sometimes feel like you're off on your own trying to figure everything out.

You're not alone.

We all go through transitional periods and it helps to talk about it with other people who are the same stage in their lives. It's okay to feel lost because you'll get by with the support of your friends.

After a stressful first half of the semester, a little girl time is exactly what the doctor ordered. I spent a sunny, Saturday afternoon brunching, walking around SoHo and snapping pics with my friends. After all, weekends are for the girls. I chose a comfy and casual look for girls day, incorporating some street style trends that are dominating the fashion world this season: straight leg jeans, Dad sneakers, and an embellished leather jacket.

It was a little chilly outside so I layered my leather jacket on top of my Patagonia down sweater for some extra warmth. A compressible, down jacket is the perfect layering piece because it provides an extra layer without adding too much bulk. Not only is my Patagonia super cozy, but it's also made of sustainable materials and the down insulation is responsibly sourced. Ethical fashion for the win ya'll!I copped my ugly, flashy Dad sneakers from Lord and Taylor. Their flagship store on Fifth is going out of business and the sales are ridiculous. They're super comfortable and get a lot of "WHAT ARE THOSE?!" double-takes. It took a little bit of coaxing, but I am now fully on board with the Dad sneaker trend.

I hope that you enjoyed this post and got some cold weather outfit inspiration. It's never too cold to look cute ya'll!On the real, make sure that you're taking care of yourselves and the people who are a part of your support system. We all need a little more love in our lives, especially during the holidays. Whether it's calling a friend you haven't spoken to in a while, grabbing a coffee with someone you'd like to get to know better or having a movie night with your crew, don't be afraid to show that ya care :)
