She's Got Layers: A Tonal Look
I’m visiting Buffalo for the holiday and decided not to pack my suitcase to the brim like I usually do. Instead, I opted for a few basics and have been borrowing items from my Mom and Dad’s wardrobe. I’m so blessed to have such stylish parents who are willing to open their closest to me which allows me to create looks like this one.
The idea from this look started with this COS quilted puffer vest, courtesy of my mother. I loved the shape and texture of the piece and decided to make it the focal point of this look. I stuck with a brown and beige color palette to create an easy tonal look that’s perfect for fall and winter
The patterned trousers are my Dad’s and to say I’m obsessed with them would be an understatement. I’ll be going back to Chicago with five new pairs of dress pants, thanks to him. I plan to get them tailored and style them with sweaters, button-downs, t-shirts, bodysuits and blazers and anything else have in my closet. The easy, relaxed fit of the pants is great to pair with fitted tops to play with proportions.
I anchored the look with my black Dr. Marten Sinclair boots, a RAINS crossbody bag and my Gucci belt. My everyday gold jewelry and the belt buckle add a much needed pop to this otherwise understated color scheme. When in doubt, gold jewelry always brings out a simple color scheme and makes a simple look feel more chic and timeless.
I hope this outfit gave you some tonal inspiration for this season. Neutrals are always my go-tp when I dont know how to pair certain items. You can truly never go wrong if you stick to a neutral palette.
I hope you’re enjoying time with loved ones and staying warm wherever you are. Sending love and blessings to you and yours!
