I Wish I Were Wearing: Best of Beige

Neutrals for spring, honey. A concept. Simple, streamlined, effortlessly chic. Need I say more? Didn’t think so. Let’s get into it.

For this look I was inspired by a sporty, 90s, spring/summer in the Hamptons moment. This outfit makes me feel like a suburban, country club going-ass mom of 3 or a chic, off-duty tennis coach. While country clubs are elitist bullshit and I’ve never played tennis, you know the vibes.

This quarter zip sweater is a vintage find from Banana Republic. It was my Dad’s from about 20 years ago. Thank goodness for parents with quality items and timeless style. Although the cream color of the sweater doesn’t match the pants perfectly, they’re close enough that they work. When creating a monochrome look, don’t get too caught up in matching colors exactly. I think it looks quite smart when you mix different fabrics with slightly different hues to create a tonal look.

My copped wide-leg jeans are Levi’s from Target of all places. Target introduced a new line of Levi products this year and I have to say, the quality is quite comparable to Levi’s from the official store. And the price is right honey. I consider a pair of jeans an investment piece because denim is a tried and true wardrobe staple in my opinion, but, I must say, these are a cute and affordable item that you could easily cop. They were $29.99. I know, crazy. I’ll keep you updated with how they wear over time.

I threw on this trench coat to tie the look together and make it truly classic. A trench coat is a timeless piece that will always upgrade an outfit. Luckily, this is a super easy item to thrift. I suggest looking for an oversized fit like this one so that you have the choice of belting it or leaving open. An item like this will last in your wardrobe forever and truly never go out of style.
